Karina commenced her legal career at Middletons Lawyers where she worked in the commercial litigation group. For two years Karina worked at the County Court of Victoria as associate to Her Honour Judge Hogan where she assisted with criminal and civil trials.
Karina is an experienced court advocate, having worked as a solicitor-advocate at the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service, where she appeared at the Koori, Magistrates and Childrens Court in criminal law matters.
Just before coming to the Bar Karina worked at the Victorian Government Solicitor's Office where she instructed counsel appearing for the State in the Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission.
Karina appears in a broad range of matters. Since coming to the Bar Karina has been briefed to appear on behalf of the Attorney-General of Victoria in the Supreme Court, in matters arising in the Federal Magistrates Court of Australia, the County Court of Victoria, the Children's Court and the Magistrates Court.
Karina holds a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) and Bachelor of Law from the Australian National University. Karina has been involved in a number of significant multicultural and human rights projects, including as international contact officer at the Australian National University. Karina speaks French and Spanish. |
